Conquering the Clutter

I am on a quest to have to have a clutter free classroom next year, and am working on ideas for my classroom, but in the meantime,  I am trying to get more organized at home too.
I am a terrible piler.  I know what things are where, but I have an awful habit of just piling things up figuring I will get to them later and put them away.  In my challenge to myself to get things decluttered, I figured I would challenge you as well.
 So here it is...

I started today with just one area, my kitchen counter.
I felt soooo much better after I got it all cleaned up.
My son thought we had been robbed!
My goal is to organize/declutter one area each day.
For the next couple of days I have the dining room table...
all the school stuff I brought home for the summer to work on...
my desk area...
and finally then my crafting stuff that used to be in the dining room...
After that it is on to my closet, the refrigerator, and my pantry.

I will post the AFTER pics as I finish an area to keep me on track.

What are your organizational challenges?
Link up with us, and let's keep each other motivated to get stuff done this summer.

Grab the linky button, post your Conquer the Clutter accomplishments, and be sure to link back here to see what everyone else is working on too.

  1. What do teachers do when they are not in the classroom???? We organize our stuff at home! I am doing the same thing you are doing. By posting our "before" photos it forces us to have "after" photos! I know exactly what you are doing! Good luck.

  2. I'm working on decluttering out of necessity. I'm getting married in less than 2 weeks and he's moving in with me. I've had to go from having 2 smallish closets to only 1. I have gotten rid of so much stuff. I should definitely join in on this party. I need to tackle the bedroom while my fiance is out of town this week. Thanks for inspiration.I'll be back tomorrow to link up.

  3. Have you heard of Flylady...I'm trying her tips and they are working at home. She has a plan to keep us organized at school too, I haven't seen that far yet but plan on it once I have these other routines turned into habits! Check her out!

  4. Whooooohooooo for you! Hope you're making progress as the summer passes. I am hosting a linky on this very same topic and would be so grateful if you would add this article (and anything similar) to my blog hop.

I can add it at the end of the day if you're taking a screen break. My mongo article can keep you motivate!
