AZ Bloggy Meet-Up, Monday Made-It, and Classroom Set Up

Last week was crazy busy for me!  We had the AZ Bloggy Meet-Up and had a blast!  Met some new friends, and put faces with some other cyber friends.
Linda Camp and Michelle Tsivgadellis organized this get-together for us.
Michelle (L) and Linda (R)

Also there were Nichole Dirks, Jennifer Kadar, and Sandra Matadamas

From L to R
Nichole, Sandra, Michelle, Jennifer, Teresa, and Linda

Our eyes all look creepy, but Farley and Crystal Radke, this one's for you!

Next up was "Magic Mike" with my BFF's,
Readers Workshop Training with my school buddies,
and taking my son to get his wisdom teeth pulled (NOT fun!)

Saturday I did some sewing and Sunday was a BD party for my mom.
Needless to say, I did not have time to get anything posted, so I am trying to catch up.

Monday Made-It

Here are the curtains that I made to cover all the teacher stuff on my bookcases.

For my other Made-Its, I put together 8 of these bookcases.

I am having tables instead of desks this year and have a bookcase for each table to store the textbooks and supplies.  I got the red and blue canvas drawers at Target on sale a few weeks ago.
Caddies, dish racks (for journals and readers notebooks) and baskets (for backpacks) are from WalMart.

I had all these plastic magazine holders left over from donating my books last week, so I decided to use them as book boxed for the kids for Reading Workshop, so I made these labels for them.

You can get a copy of the labels here.

Classroom Set Up

I have been working in my classroom all week.
(School starts in 2 weeks!  AGHHHH!)
Here is what my classroom looked like when I went in on Monday...

All my tables and my Goodwill trapezoid finds!

The Smart Board used to hang in the middle of my white boards,
and I am having it moved to the left side of the blue board.

The bulletin boards are from last year and they are coming down.
I got rid of t a lot of stuff when I took the load to Treasures 4 Teachers last week.
I got rid of the extra bookcases too.

Now to start organizing...
I put the tables out and then built the bookcases.

I still have a TON to do, but at least now I can start putting things where they belong and get organized, then decorate, and start planning for the year.
Stay tuned as I fine tune my classroom and get it all together!

  2. Kelley,
They are Sterilite (sp?) baskets that I got at Big Lots. The style changes a bit every year but it is the cheapest place I have found them.
