Five For Friday (on Saturday!)

Oh my gosh!
I have been

I have so much catching up to do!
I feel like I have not shared anything from my classroom in a LONG time!

I will start off by linking up with Kacey over at Doodle Bugs Teaching for her Five for Friday Linky.

Here are five random things from this week.

It was Testing Week!  My least favorite week of the year!
The kids' too!
I had snacks and treats for the kids every day this week.
They wanted to know if we could have snacks EVERY day!
I don't really have pics, but I did make up these Pinterest inspired goodies.
Here is a picture of just how crazy my desk area is at work!  I have just been piling things up all week.

I did go in to work for several hours and worked on it today, but I still have a LOT to do!

The kids earned a Pajama Day in our Apex Fun Run fundraiser.  They raised over $70/lap!
Our class got second place in the school.
(the picture is actually from LAST week since we were testing this week.)

We have also been learning about Arbor Day this week.  Next week we are having a celebration with the city to plant a tree in the park next to our school.  The kids made these posters for decorations for the event.

For a change of pace after all of the testing this week, we headed outside in the
GORGEOUS spring weather to do our reading.
I even surprised them with POPSICLES!

It was a great way to end a very busy week!

What were you up to this week?
Head on over and link up yourself!

  1. First of all, I am so jealous of your weather!! We are having a snow storm today booooo.

Love the pinterest inspired treats! I might have to do that one too!

And so glad you posted pics of your messy workspace because now I know I am not alone! I spent the whole afternoon cleaning just my desk off.

  2. I love those treats! We were testing this week too. NO FUN!

I am so glad my desk isn't the only one that looks like that. I have trouble staying organized to begin with but with testing...everything just was piled everywhere!

Loving our weather right now, but I'm not looking forward to the next few months!
    Thanks for sharing your week!

  4. Mother of mayhem - I feel for you and the state of your desk!! I've definitely had those weeks - but looking at that sorry situation with piles and piles of junk and papers just gets me so anxious so the messy desk doesn't tend to last long! My horseshoe table on the other hand tends to get hit with the terrible paper tornado everyday, literally papers will go flying because I always forget to put paper weights down, and then we turn on the oscillating fan, and INSTANT PAPER MAYHEM!!

  7. Holy Cow Girlfriend!!! You need a little help in your classroom...maybe I will come visit you one day....I love to organize..bwahahaha!!! I ALWAYS had my kids outside whenever the weather permitted for it. I also bought a set of clip boards at Target one year for my class and I would take them out for writing or phonics... The kids loved it!! I never did include popsicles though... you win!! hahaha I hope you get a moment to breath this week!!! Get yourself a teenage helper from an honors class....it will be the best help you ever had..hahaha

  8. Thanks for stopping by my page, I am now your newest follower! I wish it was nice enough out here in Massachusetts to take the kids outside, I love doing that. We do it for reading, writing, and sometimes even math (we estimate and measure things on the playground)! Great blog!
