Organization Ideas for Back-to-School

As we head on into a new school year,
I thought I would share some of my favorite organizational ideas.
Some I have tried and used with success,
and some are on my list of things to try out.

Store and organize board games in a hanging shoe or sweater organizer.

Takes a lot less space than the shelves I have used in the past!

Love Kindergarten Smorgasborg's
idea for using hanging baskets!

Here are a couple of a great ways to organize
guided reading or small group materials.

A five gallon bucket and a "bucket jockey"
from the tool department of Home Depot.

I don't know about you,
but I am ALWAYS looking for a
better way to organize my teacher resource materials!
This way looks fast, easy, and cheap!

L♥VE these adorable storage drawers from my buddy
Maribel over at Learning in Wonderland!

offers a MUCH better solution for storing
all of those die cut letters than the
big box and envelopes that I used to use!

I wish I had known about this idea
when I was looking for ways to store my anchor charts!
Easy, colorful, and inexpensive!

Not my photo, but this is something that I did do.
Make up bags with all of the things
new students need to get started on the first day.
Make 5-10 extra bags so that you are not scrambling
to get things ready when a new student comes.

Keep everything for the week all in one easy to access place.

Use curtains on tension rods to hide messes on shelves
or to keep kiddos out of things you do not want them to get into.

Use plastic magazine racks for book boxes.
They can easily be labeled and are much more
durable than the cardboard versions.

Bookshelves for each table for storage and organization

What are some of your favorite organization ideas?
Please share!!!

  1. Oh my goodness!!! WOW! Thank you for sharing my pin of how I organize my materials for the week! I have had those black baskets for almost 15 years and I seriously don't know what I'd do without them. It's the best way I've found to have all of my materials in the same spot. Love all of the organization ideas you have added here. Thanks again!

  2. What kind of paper can I cover hanging files with to make it pretty. Would a glue stick be sufficient to cover a file with gift wrapping paper?

    1. If you use heavy duty wrapping paper that might work. I would use rubber cement instead of a glue stick. glue stick never seem to hold for me.

    2. Another idea is scrapbook paper. It is sturdier than wrapping paper.
